Hello Photographers, Tom here from Cameras Direct with a Nikon SB-910 Speedlight Review.

Today we will have a quick look at the Nikon SB-910 Speedlight Flash. So Nikon users, if you have a crop sensor DSLR or a full-frame DSLR it doesn’t matter, if you want more power instead of the little built-in flash you have on your camera the SB-910 is going to be the flash for you. This is a professional quality flash.

The Nikon SB-910 has many features for Nikon photographers out there. For a start you have the bounce and swivel ability of the head. Of course if you’re wanting to bounce off the ceiling, or off the wall, anything like that this can do it. It comes with built-in diffuser panel to give you a wider coverage for wide-angle lenses, ultra wide-angle lenses and also comes with a little bounce card – so when you do bounce off the ceiling it kicks some light forward. It’s called a kicker or bounce card. So some very handy features there.

Of course, big LCD panel on the back which gives you all the information there for changing your mode from manual to guide mode to aperture mode, ITTL BL mode (which is backlight mode).

Also all the other functions like flash exposure compensation, stroboscopic mode.

The flash uses four AA batteries so make sure you always use high-quality alkaline batteries. We’re talking Duracell energizer alkaline not the cheapies. If you want the best AA batteries for your flash then use Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable AA batteries.

The SB-910 goes on the hot shoe and it is lockable.

The SB-910 can act as a commander unit to trigger other “off camera” Sb-910 or SB-700’s.

The SB-910 can also be used as a slave off-camera which is triggered by another one of these or indeed the pop-up flash on the higher priced Nikon bodies like the D7000 range and your D600 D750 D810. The D4’s of course don’t have the pop up flash.

All the functions and all the buttons here are easily accessible. It may take a bit to get used too it all and how the menu works. But most of the time you whack it on, pop the flash on iTTL and bang the flash does an amazing job of exposing your scene properly.

So folks if you want a professional quality flash. Lots of power. For instance, you are a wedding photography and need to light up large groups in the middle of the day. Or if you’re in reception halls or venues where you need to bounce, lots of power is required, this SB-910 is the best that Nikon make.

So if you need quality and power then … The Nikon Speedlight SB-910 ..available at
