Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L Lens Review

Tom gets excited in his Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L Lens Review

The following is a rough transcript of our Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L Lens Review.

Hello Photographers, Tom here from Cameras Direct with another Canon L Series Lens Review.

Today we’re going to have a look at the amazing brand new Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM Wide Angle Lens. The 11-24mm is Canon’s widest ever wide-angle lens.

It is not a fisheye. It is a rectilinear wide angle lens which means it tries to correct the lines to make them straight, doesn’t blow them out like a fisheye. In fact the 11-24 gives you a lens on a full frame Canon DSLR a wide-angle at 11mm, of one hundred and twenty six degrees which is astonishing.

The lens is a constant f4 lens so when you do zoom from 11 to 24 the maximum aperture does not change. Have a look at the front piece of glass on that folks. One of the world’s largest piece of glass on a wide angle lens currently.

Very solid. Fixed lens hood. You can’t put filters on this lens but you know obviously from that front optic its too sorta boldest to put any sort of filter on there.

The 11-24 is amazing. It uses two super low dispersion glass elements and a low dispersion glass elements and four aspheric elements. All that means is minimization of distortions in aberrations.

It has special coatings on the lens to keep flare and ghosting in check. It also has fluorine coatings on the front and rear optics to basically prevent smudging with fingerprints, smearing and things like. Very very high quality construction. Obviously the feel of the lens is stunning.

I mean the focus ring. It a full-time manual focus ring which means even when you’re in AF you can still touch it up with the manual focus. The ring is tight, feel great.

Of course you’ve got with the weather sealing there as well. What a lens!

Folks if you’re a landscape photographer if you’re into architecture this is the lens to have.

The ultra wide perspective gives you amazing shots wider than you ever been able to do before.

So if you’re a full frame Canon user obviously the EF designation means it is for full frame. But look you got a 7d or a 70d or a crop sensor, it doesn’t matter you can also put this beast on that and get around about 17-38mm f/4. Ultimately it is a full-frame lens.

So folks, the new 11- 24mm now available on our website If you want the best here it is….
